This corner sink with soap dish and drain plug is in very good overall condition with nice gleaming porcelain, very … more This corner sink with soap dish and drain plug is in very good overall condition with nice gleaming porcelain, very few blemishes and cast iron that shows little corrosion. We are constantly on the search of antique sinks and the corner ones are rarely found and the condition of this one stands out. After a close inspection, and years of experience dealing with porcelain of this age, it was determined that nearly every blemish was actually part of the manufacturing process and these “flaws” are built in. Top to bottom condition: The top edge and entire front surface of the backsplash is in excellent condition with no damage or wear. There is a slightly raised .5″ spot on the far left edge that was there when the sink was new, and the rest is fine. The faucets are in good shape. They are newer, but it is not known when they were installed. The style is correct, and they operate as they should. The drain plug post and soap dish have chrome that is worn and pitted in spots, but these pieces were definitely worth including with the sink, as they are not easy to come by. The top surface along the back and to the right and left of the faucets has light etching that is most likely a result of the lye from the soap bar affecting the porcelain. These spots are not all that noticeable, and the right side has very little. There is a small area of corrosion at the front of the pedestal and the water overflow drain grate has the typical appearance with some rust to be had. The entire inside of the bowl is in very good condition with virtually no issues found. There are two .05″ chips on the front, left and the rest is fine with only some light scratches present. The outside of the sink is very nice all the way around with no damage or wear, and the bottom edge is good. The underside has not seen any recent paint, which is good as it shows what little corrosion there is. Overall, this is a very nice, rare piece of American history.
