Heirs of the original owner related it was purchased in North Carolina in the 1960s. The form of this storage basket with the square base and round topis in the manner of Native American basketry made in North Carolina. It is in beautiful condition with virtually no wear. No significant breaks. This is one of several Native American style baskets from the same North Georgia estate. Please check all my listings for other near pristine pieces I have listed.The 3 baskets listed separately all came from the same place and were bought at the same time. Unfortunately, we were only able to come up with the one tag and the tag shown is not included with purchase for this listing. The tag shown was issued by the Indian Arts & Crafts Board which certified a as being sold in a CERTIFIED INDIAN ENTERPRISE—“ The Qualla Arts & Crafts Mutual, Inc. of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians”. less
