Description

Nice antique American inlaid cherry drop leaf Pembroke table. Table has string inlay on the tapered legs ending in an … more Nice antique American inlaid cherry drop leaf Pembroke table. Table has string inlay on the tapered legs ending in an inlaid light wood circle. Drawer is hand dovetailed as expected. Leaves are supported on “wings” that turn out from the skirt. Table has been refinished. There is an indentation on one of the drop leaves. This can be seen in photos 8,9 and 10. The central top is made of 2 boards as can be seen with the seam running down the middle of the table. I think this was rejoined when the table was refinished. The mushroom knob is probably not original but it could be. In my opinion it should be a brass pull but this could be original. Table was made in the first quarter of the 19th century in New England. Table closed measures 18 1/4″ wide by 36″ deep and stands 28 3/4″ tall. With the leaves up the top measures 35″ by 36″. less
