Subtle tonal variations and a skilful use of complementary colours create a sense of depth as well as light and shadow. A group of figures can be seen in the foreground, and behind them sit several light coloured houses. At the top of the composition we see the rolling hills in deeper darker colours.The painting is housed in a wood frame with an outer dark border which complements the painting beautifully. Both painting and frame are in very good vintage condition. less
