I often use pills, dollar signs, and happy faces in my paintings as symbols of unchecked consumerism and unconscious behaviors. The title, “Quiet Interlude”, comes from the name of the drug “Quaalude” (referenced in this painting). Quaalude was derived from a combination of the words “quiet” and “interlude”.”Quiet Interlude” is made with acrylic paint, paper collage, and water crayons on paper. (Please note: No quaaludes were used in the making of this painting!! LOL!) less
