I had it reupholstered at that time and used it in my home in Boston for eight years, followed by five years in France, where it was resoundingly rejected, as “Not French.” Based on the style and graceful lines of this chair, it was surmised that it originated in England around the turn of the century. Wood trim is in excellent condition and does not need refinishing. This is a very unique chair, so $$$ has been spent to preserve and structurally restore the chair to it’s original strength and integrity. less
